In a video conference with our Nordic and Baltic partners—the Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden—I reaffirmed France’s solidarity and steadfast commitment at their side.
Russia is in a situation of failure in Ukraine. This shows that its territorial and strategic claims are in vain. Yet it persists in provoking its neighbors in an attempt to break out of the impasse.
We will face it together.
Our commitment is demonstrated in particular by France’s military presence in Estonia and Romania, its contribution to NATO’s air policing mission in the Baltic countries, but also by France’s bilateral exchanges, agreements, and partnerships with the countries of the region.
It is also demonstrated by our enduring support for Ukraine, in all domains—so that it can resist, prevail, and negotiate from a position of strength, with the support of Europeans.
