The US president has done an interview with NBC News’s Meet the Press programme about negotiations to end the war.
– He said any deal will not unfreeze any of Iran’s assets immediately.
– That “comes after”, Trump told the US news outlet. “Yeah, if they behave, if they do a good job, we start talking.”
– Tehran has been pushing for its assets – frozen overseas and said to total more than $100bn, according to Iranian reports and experts – to be unfrozen as part of any deal with Washington.
