Spain’s Prime Minister, Pedro Sanchez, says the attack on a UNIFIL base in southern Lebanon that killed a Serbian peacekeeper also wounded two Spaniards with the UN mission.
– The mortar attack hit the Spanish Miguel de Cervantes base in southern Lebanon on Wednesday evening, Sanchez said on X.
– “Our most absolute condemnation of the violence and all our support to those who risk their lives to defend peace under the flag of the United Nations,” the prime minister said.
– “We hope that all parties fully comply with the ceasefire announced yesterday and that hostilities end. Peace is the only future.”
