The 38th ASEAN-United States Dialogue was held today at the ASEAN Headquarters/ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta, Indonesia. Senior Officials of ASEAN and the United States reaffirmed their commitment to advancing the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, reviewed the progress of cooperation, and exchanged views on potential areas of future cooperation, including preparations for the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-U.S. Dialogue Relations in 2027. Both sides also exchanged views on regional and international issues.

Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Cambodia, Kung Phoak, and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, Michael G. DeSombre, co-chaired the meeting. Senior Officials of ASEAN Member States or their representatives, as well as the Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN for the ASEAN Political-Security Community, attended the meeting.
