In The Hague last year, we laid the groundwork for a strong NATO 3.0: We want a bigger role for Europe, more robust deterrence, and more intensive armaments cooperation to pool the capabilities of our industries – to strengthen our defense capability.

Germany is embracing its leadership responsibility within NATO. Our goal is a new burden-sharing arrangement in the NATO alliance that aligns with Germany’s and Europe’s economic and military potential.

Ukraine provides the greatest contribution to European security outside of NATO. We want to develop proposals in Sweden on how we can further support Ukraine and benefit within the alliance from the achievements of the Ukrainian defense industry.

In Helsingborg, it’s also about the situation in the Middle East. Our efforts are aimed at ensuring free passage for all ships and thus global supply security. We are prepared to participate in international efforts to secure the Strait of Hormuz.
