I spoke recently with António Costa and Ursula von der Leyen to reaffirm Singapore’s close partnership with the European Union. Europe is a key player in today’s multipolar world — a major economic bloc, and a leading voice for open trade and a rules-based international order.
Next year marks the 50th anniversary of ASEAN-EU relations. Our economic ties are strong, and we discussed ways to deepen cooperation, including in digital trade, research and innovation. We look forward to strengthening cooperation and closer EU–ASEAN and EU–CPTPP links.
