Ethiopia and the United Nations: A shared history. A shared future. To live together in peace!

In honour of the ย United Nations’ journey of eight decades, Ethiopia has published a special commemorative stamp collection under the theme: “๐—ง๐—ผ ๐—Ÿ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐—ง๐—ผ๐—ด๐—ฒ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ฃ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ.” The four stamps tell our shared story, from signing the UN Charter in San Francisco in 1945, to deploying peacekeepers to the Congo and hosting the first-ever UN Security Council meeting on African soil. Distributed to 192 countries through the International Postal Union, they are a lasting tribute to a legacy that belongs not to one moment, but to every generation. ย

We also take this occasion to extend our deep appreciation to the United Nationsโ€™ Secretary-General H.E. Antรณnio Guterres and his dedicated team for their tireless leadership in advancing peace, development, and human rights during one of the most challenging periods in modern history. ย

The UN endures because nations keep choosing dialogue over division. Ethiopia Always Will!

: Abiy Ahmed Ali

Prime Minister of Ethiopia
