Ethiopia and the United Nations: A shared history. A shared future. To live together in peace!
In honour of the ย United Nations’ journey of eight decades, Ethiopia has published a special commemorative stamp collection under the theme: “๐ง๐ผ ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ ๐ง๐ผ๐ด๐ฒ๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ถ๐ป ๐ฃ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ.” The four stamps tell our shared story, from signing the UN Charter in San Francisco in 1945, to deploying peacekeepers to the Congo and hosting the first-ever UN Security Council meeting on African soil. Distributed to 192 countries through the International Postal Union, they are a lasting tribute to a legacy that belongs not to one moment, but to every generation. ย
We also take this occasion to extend our deep appreciation to the United Nationsโ Secretary-General H.E. Antรณnio Guterres and his dedicated team for their tireless leadership in advancing peace, development, and human rights during one of the most challenging periods in modern history. ย
