Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem says the Lebanese group’s weapons arsenal isn’t part of the negotiations with Israel and is an internal matter for Lebanon.
– “We will not abandon the field. We will turn it into hell for Israel,” Qassem said in a speech.
– Hezbollah will cooperate with the government to achieve five points: Lebanese sovereignty through a cessation of Israeli aggression, withdrawal of the Israeli army from occupied territories, the release of prisoners, the return of people to southern Lebanon and reconstruction, he added.
– “No one outside Lebanon has any say in the weapons, the resistance or the organisation of Lebanon’s internal affairs,” Qassem said.
– “This is an internal Lebanese matter and not part of negotiations with the enemy. After Lebanon achieves the five points, it will organise its internal affairs with a national security strategy, leveraging its strengths, including the resistance.”
