Qatar’s Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has landed in Washington, DC for meetings with US officials and talks on the peace proposal with Iran are expected.
– “I am delighted to welcome the peacemakers to Washington, DC – His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar,” said Hamad al-Muftah, deputy chief of mission at Qatar’s US embassy.
– US news outlet Axios earlier reported Sheikh Mohammed is expected to hold discussions with US Vice President JD Vance “to discuss the negotiations with Iran”.
– The Qatari prime minister plans to speak to Vance about “US-Qatar relations and the situation in Iran, with a focus on LNG markets and regional stability”, an unnamed source told the AFP news agency on condition of anonymity.
