The plenary session of Israel’s Central Elections Committee approved the final results of last week’s parliamentary elections Wednesday.
– The approval came with 15 committee members voting in favor, two against and 14 abstaining, according to Israeli news website Ynet.
– Committee Chairman Judge Noam Solberg said allegations concerning aspects of the electoral process were under investigation, while stressing that such suspicions “do not cast doubt on the elections as a whole.”
– Earlier Wednesday, the committee said it had found no evidence that the integrity of last week’s parliamentary elections had been compromised, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and right-wing parties in his bloc alleged fraud and voting manipulation within Israel’s Arab community.
