The Palestinian Authority has warned of the dangers posed by the ongoing Israeli escalation across the occupied West Bank, most recently in Hebron, “where collective punishment measures include the forced displacement of entire neighbourhoods, the demolition of homes and structures, and the closure and siege of Palestinian cities”.
– These measures form part of a systematic policy pursued by “the Israeli occupation government” across the occupied West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the PA noted in its statement, the Palestinian news agency Wafa reported.
– Since the beginning of 2025, more than 40,000 citizens have been forcibly displaced from their homes, and displacement continues to this day, the statement said.
– The PA said it holds Israel fully responsible for the escalation and called on the international community to intervene urgently and immediately stop Israel from committing further crimes in the occupied West Bank and Gaza Strip.
– The PA said the escalation would bring neither security nor peace to anyone, and that its continuation would only spur further tension and escalation.
