Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Monday that he held talks with US Sens. Richard Blumenthal and Thom Tillis on intelligence sharing and Starlink operations in Ukraine.
– On US social media platform X, Zelenskyy said Ukraine received no early warning from its partners before the previous night’s first wave of Russian ballistic missile attacks.
– He added that speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services remained in place in various parts of the front.
– “No explanation for either of these issues has been provided to Ukraine by the American side,” he said.
– Tillis separately said Zelenskyy also raised concerns about delays in air defense interceptors.
– “Degrading Ukraine’s satellite communications, weakening its air defenses and easing sanctions against Russia only embolden Putin and prolong this war,” he wrote on X.
– He said Zelenskyy reiterated his willingness to halt strikes on Russian energy facilities if Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to do the same.
– He added that Congress remains committed to supporting Ukraine and its European allies through sanctions against those enabling Russia’s war and efforts to secure lasting peace.
