US President Donald Trump is convinced that Russia and Ukraine will reach a deal to settle the conflict, he said while addressing Republican Party supporters in Ohio ahead of November’s US congressional elections.
– Discussing the war against Iran, Trump expressed confidence that Tehran wants to reach a deal with Washington. “And I‘ll be honest with Russia and Ukraine. They want to make a deal too. They don’t know how to,” he said.
– Trump pledged that the US will get “that deal done too.” He also once again acknowledged that he had underestimated the difficulty of settling the Ukraine conflict: “I thought this would be one of the easier ones, but it’s not.“
