Ethiopian federal troops on Saturday entered the Tigray state capital Mekelle, which was largely abandoned by the region’s rebel authorities, a humanitarian source told AFP.
– “Ethiopian federal forces and allied forces have reportedly been observed in Mekelle city… across various locations,” the source said, citing reports from staff on the ground.
