Prince Khalid bin Salman reviewed defense ties between the US and Saudi Arabia during a call with Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth, the Saudi defense minister said on Thursday.
– Prince Khalid said he and Hegseth reviewed the Saudi-US strategic defense partnership and discussed coordinating efforts to strengthen regional security.
– “We also explored several regional and international topics of mutual interest,” Prince Khalid said in a post on X.
– The top US diplomat said last week that Washington remained committed to its defense agreement with Saudi Arabia.
– “We have a very strong defense agreement with Saudi Arabia, and we will live up to our commitments in that agreement,” Secretary of State Marco Rubio said.
