On Tuesday, September 29, I met with the newly appointed members of the Consultative Board of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat (TCS).
The TCS is undertaking various programs to promote cooperation among Korea, Japan, and China. Through exchanges among young people, entrepreneurs, and academics, the TCS is creating opportunities for the people of the three countries to deepen mutual understanding and build stronger friendships.
Strengthening trilateral cooperation not only brings tangible benefits to the people of the three countries, but also plays an important role in promoting peace and prosperity in East Asia. I encouraged the TCS to continue its people-to-people exchange programs, including exchanges among younger generations, to build a solid foundation for trilateral cooperation.
I also expressed my hope that the TCS will continue to serve as a platform for communication among the three countries. The Korean government is committed to making every effort to help the three countries find as much common ground as possible and communicate with one another.
