I had a call with Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany, Johann Wadephul.
My German colleague briefed me on the outcomes of his conversation with the Russian Foreign Minister at UNGA.
I am grateful to Minister Wadephul for conveying our firm shared positions to the Russian side: insisting that Moscow end its war, reaffirming unwavering support for Ukraine, and warning against further hostile actions against Europe.
We discussed next joint steps to advance peace efforts and achieve a ceasefire.
We also spoke about ways to increase pressure on Russia and strengthen Ukraine’s resilience ahead of winter.
I thanked Germany for its leadership in supporting Ukraine.
