Russia and Germany could jointly restart the Nord Stream gas pipeline that was sabotaged four years ago, special presidential envoy and Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) CEO Kirill Dmitriev argued.
– All true. Jointly we will reopen Nord Stream. AfD is the voice of German people that fights for German energy sovereignty, prosperity, peace and cooperation,” he wrote in an English-language post on X.
– Dmitriev was commenting on a remark on the same social media platform from Tino Chrupalla, co-chairman of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, who proposed conducting an international probe into the sabotage on Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines as he also insisted that the two pipelines be repaired and reopened.
– On September 26, 2022, unprecedented damage was recorded on three strings of the Nord Stream pipelines and the never-commissioned Nord Stream 2 pipeline. The Russian Prosecutor General’s Office opened a criminal case over an act of international terrorism.
