Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan warned on Sunday that continued escalation in the region was widening the scope of confrontation, stressing that the Kingdom’s security was non-negotiable.
– “The Kingdom’s security is not open to compromise,” Prince Faisal said, adding that Gulf states would not accept attacks on their territories “under any pretext.”
– The foreign minister said security in the Arabian Gulf could only be achieved through respect for the sovereignty of its states, warning that continued escalation risked further broadening the conflict.
– He also stressed that stability in the Gulf was an international concern because of the region’s importance to the global economy.
