What Ukraine has built under the extraordinary pressure of an illegal war is changing defence far beyond its borders. Canada has a lot to gain from bringing that experience together with our own talent and technology.
This week, we signed a 100-Year Partnership Declaration and agreed to jointly produce drones, counter-drone systems, electronic warfare capabilities and ammunition. Canada will also back Ukraine’s Freya air-defence coalition, launch a new initiative for Ukrainian veterans, and move forward on easier travel to Canada for eligible Ukrainians.
