EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas says all member states agree that Israeli settlements in the West Bank are illegal under international law, after the UK and 11 other countries announced support for trade sanctions targeting the settlements.
– “The Israeli Government’s settlement expansions in the West Bank are undermining the prospects for a viable two-State solution,” Kallas said in a post on X.
– “The EU remains the largest donor of humanitarian assistance to Gaza and the West Bank,” she said. “We remain firmly committed to supporting a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on the two-State solution, with two states living side-by-side in peace within secure and recognised borders.”
