UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk has appealed to Iran and the US to return to negotiations immediately, saying he is “alarmed by the resumption of attacks”.
– “Recent reports of civilian deaths and injuries, including at a wedding in Hormozgan province, are particularly concerning,” he told the Human Rights Council, referring to a US attack in Sirik in which at least four people were killed at a wedding party.
– “The geopolitical and economic impacts of this entirely avoidable crisis are again reverberating around the world.”
